“An awareness of the climate change costs and impacts of everyday activities and the ability and motivation to reduce emissions on an individual, community and organisational basis.”

The Carbon Literacy Project aims to ensure that everyone who works, lives, or studies in Wales has the opportunity to explore what the reality of climate change means for them in their home-life and work-life. Individuals, communities and organisations are helped to take action to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gasses; to prepare for the local impacts of global warming; and to feel equipped to mobilise others to act.

The “Carbon Literacy Project” has achieved international recognition and is now an established movement for change in Greater Manchester, Scotland, the BBC, and the BAFTA network of film and TV professionals, with new networks established in Canada, Holland and France.

Anyone who lives, works or studies in Wales. Carbon Literacy is for individuals from any organisation – public sector, businesses, charities, voluntary groups – that has aims to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions, is thinking of doing so, or wants to influence others to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and adopt low carbon lifestyles.

On successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate from the Carbon Literacy Trust.

You will understand how to explain and communicate the causes and consequences of climate change, locally and across the world. You will be able to evaluate the contributions you make to greenhouse gas emissions and identify actions you can take both at home and in work to; reduce your contributions, adapt to climate changes, and influence others.

Cynnal Cymru is the official partner of the Carbon Literacy Project in Wales. We offer certified Carbon Literacy training.

Trigonos is a not-for-profit, sustainably focused business. As well as the the opportunity to take part in the open carbon Literacy course, Trigonos invite you to attend:

– A presentation on their environmental impact reduction measures across the areas of team development, energy usage and production (solar, bio-mass, irrigation), procurement practices, banking, telephony, service delivery and premises maintenance

– A tour of the property and land.

An opportunity to discuss all of the above with the Directors and three-fold Leadership Team

Trigonos is set on an 18 acre estate in a quiet Snowdonia valley, bordering a lake within a superb mountain landscape that looks up to the west face of Snowdon.
