Does your business, charity or organisation work in partnership with the public sector?
Do you respond to public sector procurement tenders?

Two pieces of legislation – The Well-being of Future Generations Act (WFG Act) and The Environment Act will have a major impact on the economy of Wales.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

These sessions are suitable for anyone who wants to make their organisation more environmentally and socially responsible and in doing-so benefit from the added value that it can offer to customers, clients and funders. If you are developing your organisation so that it can work for and with the public sector in Wales then this course is a must!

Annual reports tend to focus on commercial success and financial performance but public sector bodies in Wales and large global brands with a local presence are now interested in the added value that can be gained through the supply chain. Smaller companies need to be able to demonstrate not just financial viability but environmental responsibility, innovation, well-being of the workforce and support for the local community. We can help you to develop evidence-based integrated reports that give you the edge in responding to tenders from multinationals and the public sector. Charities and social enterprise in receipt of public funding will need to demonstrate that their are supporting value-for-money delivery of Wales’ national Well-being Goals.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

This interactive seminar will focus on the following:

  • Recent legislation unique to Wales that affects businesses and the public sector.
  • How to create a basic sustainability strategy by building on environmental management systems, quality assurance, HR standards and health and safety policies
  • How to begin reporting what you do in the context of Wales’ National Well-being Goals and why this will be beneficial for your organisation
  • Developing the business on a commitment to sustainability – setting targets and striving for continuous improvement

The aim is to help professionals to re-assess their strategies, business and service-delivery models so that they can be coherent with the Well-being of Future Generations and Environment Acts. We want to help organisations to carry on delivering their core purpose – selling products, providing services – but in a way that helps Wales move towards the national goals – prosperity that does not damage nature; cohesive communities with healthy, well-educated citizens; a rich culture, and a position of global leadership.

TESTIMONIALS

“We are very pleased with the facilitation and training service provide by Cynnal Cymru. They provided a structured basis for our senior management team to critically analyse our strategy in relation to sustainability in Wales with particular reference to the important Well-being of Future Generations Act. Their knowledge of policy and the subject matter blended well with their facilitation skills. The training methods employed were appropriate, focused and relevant and the session was well-received by staff across the organisation.”

Ruth Marks, Chief Executive, Wales Council for Voluntary Action

“Many thanks for the very useful, interesting and reflective training yesterday. It inspired a great deal of ideas which I can take back to the organisation and ways in which we can work in a more integrated way. “
