Alexandra Wall has been working on establishing a luxury sustainable clothing brand, Xandra Jane, in Wales since January 2016 after working in the London fashion industry for the luxury streetwear brand KTZ and AllSaints. Her Autumn/Winter 2016 collection is entitled ZERO after its approach to zero waste on textiles. Her clothing brand rebels against fast, high street fashion and is releasing a capsule collection consisting of only three garments, in three colours which are more considered and revised in their execution. Solving the design issue of zero waste and up cycling garments has led to new exciting ideas in the design process.
Since joining Melin Homes in 2013 Trish has driven their environmental agenda through enhancing their Environmental Management Systems (EMS), achieving the BS8555 standard and creating and leading a new sustainability team. Trish has developed the Value Wales Community Benefit toolkit, organised an event with Minister Carl Sargeant and set upon a program of educating all staff about sustainable development as part of the Melin corporate training plan. This September Trish planned Melin’s first successful sustainability week and launched a newly built veg patch alongside a large conference around sustainability within communities. Trish has transformed Melin Homes into an organisation now leading in the field of sustainable development.
