Keeping the balance of play in the Park

The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority has launched its plan for the sustainable management and promotion of recreation in the Park and the surrounding coastal waters.

The Recreation Plan, entitled ‘Enjoying the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park’ has been co-ordinated by the Pembrokeshire Coastal Forum and funded jointly by Visit Wales, the Countryside Council for Wales and the National Park Authority.

The Authority’s Head of Park Management and Delivery, Charles Mathieson, said:  “This is a plan that should be consulted by anyone developing recreation facilities, new activities or major events in the county. We need to make the most of the opportunities in this wonderful landscape while taking care that we don’t damage what other people value about it.

“We also need to encourage activities which make the most of the character of the local area rather than those which cause conflict or which erode the special character of the county.”
