Copenhagen: A Positive Way Forward

Cynnal Cymru-Sustain Wales hosted an evening with guest speakers Jane Davidson (Minister for Environment, Sustainability and Housing), Julian Rosser (Oxfam Cymru) and Paul Allen (Centre for Alternative Technology), at The Senedd, Cardiff Bay, in February 2010.

The Minister gave her account of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change that took place in Copenhagen in December, and the role that Wales played in the process. The Minister also explained why she believes we must regard Copenhagen as a starting point, and focus positively on the next steps towards securing a strong deal and continue to demonstrate leadership here in Wales.

Julian Rosser and Paul Allen, who also attended the Summit, gave their personal reflections on the negotiations and their outcome, and how now more than ever, civil society, business and government in Wales must take action now and show leadership.

The evening was a resounding success, with over 150 people attending from NGOs, business, public sector and communities.
