‘Delivering fairer outcomes for Wales: tackling fuel poverty’
The NEA Cymru National Fuel Poverty Conference is taking place on the 23rd February 2012 at the Cardiff Millennium Stadium and is kindly supported by British Gas.
Against an uncertain economic backdrop, many households are worried about their ability to pay their fuel bills this year. The economic downturn, rising unemployment and cuts in social welfare payments have been compounded by increases in energy prices. We predict the number of Welsh households experiencing fuel poverty will reach unprecedented levels: over 390,000 households. The conference will bring together a range of stakeholders from different sector to discuss how we can together ensure fuel poverty practice and policy delivers for low income households experiencing the misery of fuel poverty in Wales.
The conference will comprise two plenary sessions and a programme of four seminar workshops. Workshops will offer an opportunity for more in-depth discussion on a number of topics that reflect the diverse interests of the conference delegates.
Come along, have your say. Together we can make a bigger difference to fuel poor households!
