15 November | Environmental Protection UK Conference
This is a landmark year for Environmental Protection UK, which celebrates its 120th anniversary.
First formed as the Coal Smoke Abatement Society (CSAS) in 1898, and later becoming the National Society for Clean Air (NSCA) to fight the Great Smogs of the 1950s, EPUK continues to work for its members. Today’s challenges include air pollution from transport, sustainable use of land, and reducing noise. At conference this year the organisation will be building on its achievements of the last 120 years, to look at contemporary issues and the future of environmental protection in a rapidly changing physical and legislative world.
