Board Elections 2011
At the AGM on 13 July 2011, new Articles of Association were accepted by Cynnal Cymru’s members. The new Articles bring changes to the membership and Board structure. The Board’s role will focus on strategic and governance issues. Wider SD issues will be addressed by an Advisory Panel to the Commissioner.
In accordance with the newly adopted articles, Cynnal Cymru will seek elections to its Board of Directors annually. There are 6 elected places on the Board, and the option to co-opt up to a further 4 places.
At the AGM on 13 July, 3 Directors from the previous Board remained in place: Einir Young, Jeremy Sherrard-Smith and Alan Netherwood.
3 places on the Board were made available for election by the membership. Following a call for nominations, 9 members were proposed for the Board, and at the AGM, elections were held and three successful candidates were elected onto the Board. These were Andrew Padmore, Catrin Ellis-Jones and Bill Thomas.
Following the elections at the AGM, a Board meeting was held at which the Directors unanimously agreed to co-opt one further Director - Vanessa Griffiths.
The Board Directors’ biographies are attached.
To ensure that the Board has an adequate spread of expertise, a list of required skills is attached. Those who wish to stand for the Board in the future will need to complete the Director Nomination form (attached).
