Herbert Girardet is co-founder of the World Future Council and member of the Club of Rome He is leading international consultant and a recipient of a UN Global 500 Award ‘for outstanding environmental achievements’. For many years he has focussed on the business and job opportunities of sustainable urban development, and he is often called the world’s leading urban ecologist. Herbert has developed sustainability policies for cities such as London, Vienna and Adelaide. He is author of 14 books and 50 environmental TV documentaries for major broadcasters. He lives in Monmouthshire.

14:00 How South Australia did it – Mike Rann
Mike Rann was Premier of South Australia from 2002 to 2011 where he pioneered many ground breaking sustainability initiatives. He was leader of the S.A. Labour Party for 17 years. From 2012 to 2015 he was Australia’s High Commissioner to London and ambassador to Rome. He is a visiting professor at the Policy Institute, Kings College, London and a member of the International Leadership Council of the Climate Group. He is now based in London, and has recently launched the Mike Rann Strategy Group to advise decision makers on sustainable development policy, social inclusion and urban renewal.
